Saunteel Jenkins on Wednesday night
Former Council President Saunteel Jenkins, a Detroit mayoral candidate, said Wednesday night that if she wins the race, she plans to keep Todd Bettison as police chief and is open to working with some of the current candidates, possibly in her administration. The primary is on Aug. 5.
In a wide-ranging interview on the podcast, Detroit in Black and White, she spoke with hosts Adolph Mongo, Vanessa Moss and Allan Lengel about cutting red tape for new and existing businesses, dealing with big business in the city, the skyrocketing cost of car insurance, cuts in revenue from Washington, gun violence and more.
